Auto and Home Insurance Broker

You will help Ontario households compare and buy car and home insurance.

You talk to people, work out what they need, quote it across the insurers we work with and place the policy that fits.

What we provide

• Qualified leads: quote requests from people who come to PolicyScanner.
• Training and mentorship.
• 15+ insurers to quote.

What you will do

• Follow up on quote requests and advise each client.
• Ask the right questions and work out what coverage each client needs.
• Quote the same coverage across insurers and explain the differences.
• Place the policy and get the paperwork right.
• Look after your clients at renewal and when their needs change.
• Keep accurate records and follow RIBO's rules.

What you need

• A RIBO licence, or you are working toward one.
• Clear spoken and written English.
• Confidence on the phone and with online tools.
• Good organisation and care with detail.
• The drive to build your own client base.

A second language is an asset. Many of our clients prefer to be served in their own.

How you are paid

This role is fully commission-based. There is no base salary: you earn commission on the policies you place.

Getting licensed

To work as a broker in Ontario you need a licence from the Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario (RIBO). New brokers start at Level 1: you pass the Level 1 exam, join a registered brokerage and work under the supervision of a principal broker.
